This inaugural CLARS stakeholder workshop in Kenya will be held on 4th April 2025, at Kisii University, Senate Chambers. This workshop will focus on the differential impacts of climate change on existing gender and social inequalities, as well as other climate-related socio-economic vulnerabilities (SEVs). During the event, the research team will present initial findings and observations on the challenges faced by women and girls who are displaced due to climate-induced hazards such as floods, droughts, extreme temperatures, and landslides. The workshop will also discuss potential adaptation and mitigation strategies. The workshop aims to explore how various stakeholder groups, including policymakers, government representatives, the business community, academics, and the wider community, can contribute to addressing these issues. Participants will further examine their roles and responsibilities in enhancing research uptake and implementing solutions.
