The first CLARS stakeholder workshop in Uganda is scheduled for April 15, 2025, at Mbarara University of Science and Technology. The workshop, themed "Resilient Together: Climate Adaptation for Refugees and IDPs," will address the complex vulnerabilities faced by refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs) due to climate-induced hazards such as floods, droughts, extreme temperatures, and landslides. During the event, the research team will share their initial findings and insights on the intersection of climate mobility and socio-economic vulnerabilities (SEVs) among refugees and IDPs. The preparedness of cities and the broader community to handle such influxes will also be examined. The workshop will bring together various stakeholder groups, including policymakers, government officials, business leaders, academics, and community members, to discuss their roles in addressing these challenges. Participants will explore their responsibilities in enhancing research uptake and implementing effective solutions.
